All the Little Chicks with the Crimson Lips Go...

Good News, Everyone! I’ve hijacked another format! And there’s nothing any of you can do about it!!! Why? Because for this sin and for my delinquency in updating, I have been twice smitten by the lobby god.

R.I.P. guy. You’ll be missed.

And now, what you’ve all been waiting for: a ridiculously long post about everything I’ve been doing since… holy crap that’s a long time! But first, you have to understand a little bit about my brain. It’s functioning on a much lower grade level as of late. Perhaps it’s because I’ve spent this summer systematically committing myself to absolutely nothing. Maybe it’s because I was recently smitten. Either way, this has led to a disengaged attention span and the evaporation of my sense of time. Also I’m being distracted by the cinematic masterpiece Freddie vs. Jason. Freddy just looked at a black girl and said “How sweet: dark meat,” and it offended even me.) Bear with me. I’ll be back on track soon.

A while ago:

I traveled even farther south (or is it further south?) to the grand old state of North Carolina, home to David Sedaris, my cousin Kelly, and the marvelous Dan&Lindsay.

I set out on the 11 hour drive with my mother to go visit my cousin (this is the one who was at my house when I moved home for the summer). We helped her move and take care of her baby. I played with Tripp and fixed her computer. I also took this picture.

Has there ever been a cuter baby? And with such a perfectly round head. He’s like a baby-boy-Christina-Ricci, but cute.

After a day or two, I drove a couple more hours to visit some of my favorite people on the planet. Foods, drinks, smokes, and libations. Sweet. I did not take pictures. I am a fool.

A shorter while ago:
Shortly after arriving home (meaning only a day or two) I received a phone call from the Quotable Hannah (who does not have a blog anymore. But perhaps I’ll forgive her.). Apparently she and Caitlin have been looking for an apartment for quite some time, and they seemed to have settled on one. It’s in a house that has three apartments. A large one on the bottom floor, a medium one on the middle floor, and a small one in the attic. At the same time the bottom floor becomes available, so will the top. And it’s just my size!

So I went to Cleveland for the weekend. Hanging out with C. and H. we went for coffee, Chipotle, and discount leopard-print leggings. We saw the apartments. Melikes.

Then we went to see Caitlin’s show Enchanted April. Even without Caitlin’s amazing acting abilities she would have been a shining star in this cast. But fortunately she has them, and was indeed amazing on her own.

So like my hero, Drew Carey (and the title kicks in) I will [most likely] be moving to Cleveland in early August, shortly after Hans and Rachel’s wedding (I know, I know. 16 days. Stop reminding me already!). The grand ol’ town that has an obscene concentration of community theatres, the Sandham family, and is conveniently located “close” to Illinois (Neil), Pennsylvania (Allan, Rainey and Yax), and Mansfield (Charlie and Mikey).

So it’s not quite as “cool” as NYC, but it beats the hell out of KY. I’ll talk about that later (in this post or in another month or so?) I think I’ll really be happy there.

And if that falls through, there are some job openings at the theatre company I interned with.

Otherwise this summer has been uneventful. I’m a little disappointed with how home turned out, but satisfied in the fact that I hoped I would be. Now I get to focus on moving and returning to the real world.

So I guess this turned out shorter than I had earlier thought. I guess that’s good news for everyone. I’ll commit some time to it and put together something beautiful soon, I promise.
